ADVOCACY ON CANCER CARE FOR ALL

 

ADVOCACY

SALCASUN engages and work with Communities ,Local and National authorities; Youth and Women groups, traditional/religious leaders, other Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Community Based Organizations (CBOs), Community Development Associations (CDAs), Business Membership Organizations (BMOs), Faith Based Organization (FBOs), and also work with relevant  Federal/ State Ministries and Commissions to enlighten and educate the public on the importance of early detection and screening of breast and cervical cancer in rural areas, urban areas, tertiary institutions and secondary schools through the following means:

 

  • Organising breast and cervical cancer awareness sensitization.
  • Creating awareness via drama display and media.
  • Providing Free Breast And Cervical Cancer screening.
  • Distributing brochures and leaflets in English and local language(Hausa).
  • Providing financial support to cancer patients.
  • Empowering cancer survivors and care givers.
  • Providing a support group for mental health and psycho social counselling of cancer patients.

 

We play a big role in our community by complimenting the health system in initiating cancer control through emphasizing the importance of early detection .screening  and providing  the much needed information to women and young girls.
